An electrical fire at Health
Sciences North this afternoon (Sept. 22) has
caused the evacuation of both Health Sciences
North and South. There were no injuries, but all
Health Sciences North and South classes have
been canceled for the rest of the day and
evening and employees were sent home.
Employees and students should be able to return
to their workplaces and classes on Tuesday
morning. Stay tuned to local news reports and
the MIX for updated information.
In the meantime, students with medical
emergencies should go to the Ruby Memorial
Hospital Emergency Room; Student Health is
closed.
Housing staff and faculty are also advised that
many students that evacuated the facilities had
to leave books, room keys and personal items
behind and may need assistance with residence
hall access and class assignments.
